                                                         PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
TRSC Family,

The big deal this month is for everyone to get ready for our 20th anniversary party coming up on August 9th at the Emerald Golf Club. Their club house will hold our entire group with room to spare. The dance floor is very nice and our own TRSC member Vickie Porter will have great Hors d’oeuvres for us. Try to remember any past TRSC members that you might like to invite and get your RSVP’s in to Wayne or Marie Moore soon. We would like to get some of our former members back into and active in our club again. Your efforts will help the club be strong.

Our yard sale on Saturday June 28, 2008 went very well and though we did have some items that did not sell, we certainly covered the club’s portion of the bill for our recent chicken barbeque at Attitudes. We had about 40 members and guests at the barbeque and it was enjoyed by all. Let’s do something similar soon. Suggestions of things to do is welcome and if you have an idea, tell everyone at the meeting on July 13th.

The ACSC summer workshop is fast approaching. Marie and Wayne Moore and some other TRSC members will represent us at Greenville, SC on July 11th and 12th. It promises to be a really fun event in a great setting.

Finally, we’re still waiting for some lucky TRSC member to win the $100.00 raffle. A number of names have been drawn but you have to be there to win. The next drawing will be on July 6, 2008. I really hope you come out and win! Speaking of raffle tickets, please buy at least one Fun Monday raffle ticket, we need to do our share for SOS.

Sincerely,
Al Kindler

MINUTES FROM CLUB MEETING
June 8, 2008 Attitude’s Pub and Grill

President Al Kindler called the meeting to order. Tom Chapman gave the invocation. Minutes of the May meeting were approved as sent via email and newsletter. We had Martha Morris with us tonight as a guest of Mike and Susie Harrell. It was nice to have Martha with us and hope she will join us again.

Treasurer’s Report: Given by Linda McAlister.

Wayne reported that money has been received for all but 10-12 tickets for our 20th anniversary party. Great job to everyone who sold and/or bought tickets for this very special event. A special round of applause goes to Max Taylor who sold 70 tickets!!! Way to go Max! Marie has the flyers almost ready. The party will start between 7:30 and 8:00 pm. The winner of our drawing for the “Party with 25” was…..Jerry King!!!! Congratulations Jerry!

Membership: Doris reported that we have 3 new applications; Ed & Pat Trott and Kathleen Beliveau. A motion was made and seconded to vote on their applications. These 3 members were voted on and accepted into our club. Welcome to all of you and we hope you will be with us each and every Sunday for a great time. Membership is at 148.

Ways and Means: Wendy reported that she has a basketful of Twin River T-shirts for sale. Regular sizes are $10.00 and XXL are $12.00. Wendy reminded everyone that our garage/yard sale is June 28th. It will be at the lot next to the Burger King on Neuse Boulevard. Please clean out your garages and attics for items to sell. If you are available that day, we need all the help we can get. Tom and Wendy have graciously accepted to be at the location at 6:00 am in order to claim a spot for us. So please get there as soon as you can. Please mark this date on your calendars. We need all of you out there and we need all of your “treasures” that you would like to be relieved of so that our project will be a success. There will be an enclosed trailer at Attitudes on Sunday, June 22nd to load all items for our yard sale. Please bring your items out to Attitudes on that Sunday and have your items priced. That way as soon as they are unloaded at the location, they will be ready to sell.

Sunshine: Sylvia brought us up to date on Fred. Fred had a cyst on his neck and he had a biopsy and it was malignant. He will be starting chemo in the next couple of weeks. Buck Johnson reported that Robbie Robertson was at Duke undergoing blood work and other tests. The results of these tests will determine if Robbie is placed on the transplant list.  Our prayers and thoughts continue to be with Robbie and Fred. Hang in there guys, we are all rooting for you!

Old Business: Don’t forget the club has 100 raffle tickets to sell for Fun Monday at SOS. Please get your ticket or tickets, the ones you want to buy and the ones you are going to sell for the club from Doris Johnson. Doris will be keeping up with our sales for these tickets. She will need all the monies in for the tickets no later than August 24th. TRSC has always sold their 100 tickets for this function and we don’t want this year to be any different. Go Team!!!

New Business: Linda McAlister announced that there will be a chicken cook out for the club and guests on June 22nd. Please sign up by Tuesday, June 17th by calling Linda at 634-3459 or email her at lindamc@suddenlink.net. The total for the meal will be $7.00 per person. A motion was made and seconded for the club to pay $4.00 towards each member’s meal. The motion was carried so the club will pay $4.00 for each member for their meal and the member will only have to pay the balance of $3.00 for a great dinner prepared by Claude Banks. Guests will pay $7.00 for their meal.

Al has 25 TRSC logo license plates for anyone who would like to purchase one. They cost $5 each. Al also asks that we wear our name tags each week so that our new members can get to know us and we can get to know them.

Al wanted everyone to know that the ACSC sends brochures/flyers to him about the various events going on in the other clubs. If you are interested in another club’s events, let Al know and he can let you know what information he may have.

William Green, who manages Ducks at Myrtle Beach, was in a motorcycle accident. He does not have any medical insurance. If you would like to send a donation, please go to Duck’s website for the mailing address and more information on William.

Respectfully submitted,
Ernie Land, Secretary
